Patient Privacy and Safety
All children in the Asthma Action at Erie will receive the same, excellent medical care for asthma. This research project asks, What is the best and most cost-effective way to educate patients and their families about asthma?
All research staff and investigators working on Asthma Action at Erie are trained and certified in the protection of human subjects in research. Many steps in this research are taken to protect the identity and safety of research participants.
The Institutional Review Board of the University of Illinois at Chicago has reviewed and approved all procedures and materials used in this study.
In addition, a Data and Safety Monitoring Board supports the research staff and investigators.
Data and Safety Monitoring Board
The Data and Safety Monitoring Board will work with study staff to monitor any adverse events that occur during your participation on the Asthma Action at Erie Trial.
